In the past, companies have developed vast ranges of tapes for bonding a huge variety of substrates for any given application. This placed the responsibility of choice with the customer – and this was not only confusing but could lead to bond failures through opting for the wrong product. NovaBond have sought to remove the mystery of these high bond tapes by developing adhesive technologies to match the specific criteria of bonding metals, plastics or high clarity substrates like glass……so now, the choice is easy!

NovaBond SignFix ‘Plastic’ utilising a softer adhesive formulation with a greater affinity to plastic surfaces, SignFix ‘Plastic’ provides immediate grab and handling strength even on modern composite signmaking materials and polycarbonates without the need to abrade the surface. SignFix ‘Plastic’ is flexible enough to allow bonding of dissimilar plastics (even plastic to metal) to allow for different rates of expansion and contraction. SignFix ‘Plastic’ is white in colour and on a blue filmic liner. Available in two standard thicknesses, 0.64mm and 1.1mm, in 33m rolls and standard widths of 12mm, 19mm and 25mm although any width can be cut to order.

NovaBond SignFix ‘Metal’ is a firmer adhesive in order to increase the shear strength when bonding heavier metal signs. It is ideal for bonding sign channel and stiffeners onto aluminium, stainless steel and painted metal signage and the firmness of the product supports the rigidity of the materials in the bond to provide a very secure ‘riveted’ or ‘welded’ feel to the sign. SignFix ‘Metal’ is white in colour, on a blue paper liner and is standard in the same thicknesses and dimensions as SignFix ‘Plastic’.

NovaBond SignFix ‘Crystal’ & ‘Crystal HT’ is a water clear adhesive that is virtually invisible when bonding up high clarity materials like acrylic, polycarbonate or glass. SignFix ‘Crystal’ is very soft and conformable and highly versatile whether bonding irregular surfaces and both rigid or flexible materials. It is water clear, on a blue filmic liner and available in 0.5mm and 1.0mm, in 33m rolls and standard widths as above. SignFix ‘Crystal HT’ is a firmer adhesive which is excellent for bonding metals and has the added benefit of withstanding stoving temperatures for repeated oven cycles so that bonding can be done prior to powder coating. SignFix ‘Crystal HT’ is available in 0.25mm thickness in 50m rolls or in 0.5mm and 1.0mm thickness in 33m rolls. The products are distinguished by the blue paper liner.

NovaBond SignFix ‘LSE’ is a water clear, soft and incredibly high tack adhesive specially formulated to bond to low surface energy plastics. It provides immediate bond strength on a wide variety of plastics even polypropylene and urethane. For best results, treat the surface with NovaBond Surface Primer. NovaBond SignFix LSE is identified with its clear filmic liner. It is available in 0.8mm thickness as standard and stocked in the widths as above.

NovaBond SignFix ‘XS’ is a new range of NovaBonds utilising a firmer acrylic core for incredible cohesive and shear strength. It is double-coated to aid initial bond strength for handleability in assembly. The XS range mirrors the standard range in standard dimensions but stands out as the choice for demanding and critical applications where you simply cannot afford to compromise. Best used in conjunction with NovaBond Surface Primer, NovaBond XS has been independently tested to outperform the market leading products by a significant margin.

NovaBond SG Innova Solutions have developed a brand new innovation in adhesive technology in the NovaBond SG (Shear Grip) range of pressure sensitive tapes. We have successfully engineered the ‘stickiest’ adhesive known to man to perform to a level never before seen from a rubber adhesive. Rubber adhesives have always provided an excellent degree of immediate tack, high peel strength and affinity to bond to even low surface energy substrates but we have modified the adhesive structure to add incredible shear resistance and ability to resist both water and plasticisers. The highly crosslinked rubber molecules and the introduction of a tough polyester scrim exhibits superb internal cohesion to produce a self-adhesive tape which will bond virtually anything from Aluminium to Zintec and even heavily plasticised PVC, primed timber, concrete and stone.

Extruded in 3 thicknesses: 0.15mm (SG15), 0.3mm (SG30) and 0.8mm (SG80), NovaBond SG is available ex-stock in a multitude of standard widths in 50m rolls and longer.

Note: Not suitable for bonding clear substrates exposed to direct UV light and for bonding dissimilar materials over 1m in length where the internal scrim does not allow independent expansion and contraction.
